The Carnage!
Mumbai bled.
There was unprecedented mayhem.
Precious lives were lost.
As we look back, we realize how important it is to stay focused, stay calm and organize ourselves as citizens. Let's stop the blame game and work together without fear.
As Barack Obama said, "Hope is that thing inside us that insists, despite all evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it, and to work for it, and to fight for it."
India is a cultural powerhouse.
We are known for our diversity, our spirit of tolerance, our unbroken civilisational continuity, our refinement, among other qualities.
We are also great survivors.
As all of us know, when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
We have to show the world how strong we are.
The time is now!
My close friend Kalpana Bhabhi faced the unimaginable.she lost her husband. She sent these poignant words - they hit the core of my being!
May god bless all of us.
I know that one day our world
will improve and flourish.
In the words of Obama once again,
"Yes we can heal this nation.
Yes we can repair this world.
Yes we can."
Let's capture this spirit in all that we do!!

When I loved nature in all its abstract glory,
the changing shapes of clouds,
the irregular shapes and colours of mountains,
the changing size of the moon
and the position of the sun, the flow of the river,
the random waves in the ocean;
When I loved nature's music,
little did I realize how the complex, incomprehensible and opaque law of nature will
change my perfect life into something most abstract. unknown. empty.
Before I could announce myself as an artist to the world,
fate has removed the source of colour in my life.
Life will go on dreaming.assuming he is with us...
in all three of us.
I don't know about life.
But I can never be the same.
A straight line is not art; the irregular line is.
The same is true of life.
